Dr Priya Shanmugalingam brings over 20 years of experience as a general dentist to our practice. Her passion for dentistry merges science, engineering, and art to craft healthy, functional, and beautiful smiles.

Dr Shanmugalingam has built a strong reputation in rural communities through her dedication to long-term oral health and meaningful patient relationships. Her approach emphasizes holistic care, focusing on comprehensive treatment planning rather than short-term cosmetic fixes.

She believes in managing patients’ overall health and well-being rather than being driven by specific procedures. Her experience spans busy regional cities like Townsville and Dubbo, where the scarcity of specialists has honed her skills in handling complex dental cases, sports injuries, and diagnosing and treating rare oral conditions.

Priya remains committed to professional development, having completed a Master’s program with the Brener Implant Institute, the California Implant Institute’s All-on-4 externship, and other training such as FastBraces, Progressive Orthodontic Seminars, and oral appliance therapy, to name a few.

She is a certified provider for Invisalign, Spark, and ClearCorrect. She is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a member of the Australian Dental Association and the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. Priya has also served as a clinical supervisor at James Cook University and currently combines clinical practice with her role at the School of Dentistry and Medical Science at Charles Sturt University.

She enjoys the tranquil country life in Dubbo with her son and mother and is an active member of her local Rotary Club.
